Greetings!
Yes, that's right, I do get emotional sometimes, especially when I put myself in the skin of those children. It's been hell on earth for them. I am sure some of them would wish they were never born.
I grew up with Pastor Joseph's family, Jimmy's parents, almost as my own family.
The children are cousins but brothers and sisters to me. We grew up in the church
and served alongside pastor Joseph until I moved away for school and so forth..
The Lord has allowed me to learn from the strength of character of Pastor Joseph,
a man of integrity.
Before, there were over a hundred children at the church school who could not afford to go to school, so the church hired some teachers to homeschool them. After a certain period of time most of the teachers left because the church could not afford to pay them any longer.
Then there were the orphanage kids which were about a hundred 130 children, some of which had parents, a father and no mother, or vice versa, a few even had both but it was as though they had none because some were dying of hunger and if the church didn't intervene, they would literally starve themselves to death. The situation became so overwhelming that Pastor Joseph asked me if there is a way I can take this ministry over. With the hurricane: the number of children has increased to as many as over 300 and keeps increasing. The situation is overwhelming, but we know that God has a solution as we stay in prayer and trusting Him.
Some of the older children, especially the girls, were taken in by the pastor's wife, Mrs. Metellus. Her house was always like a rescue mission.
They also had a ministry of cooking and feeding some senior citizens in the church who didn't have anything at all. Well, this may be excess info, but I thought I could briefly jot them down.
Well, now there are more children in need, counting the ones who lost their parents and so forth, but I am thinking that an orphanage cannot hold too many children in order to function properly, considering the costs etc. I am looking at a facility that can hold 100 orphans; I mean the worst of the worst. Maybe every child is worst of the worst by now after the earthquake but we'll be sorting them out wisely. You can give me some pointers on that.
If you have further questions, please ask, in case I left some info out.
Many blessings to you.
Many blessings and good night,
