Ruth Mwendwa
Ruth and her husband, Justus, oversee the men and women sponsored by Encompass in Kenya for the first year of their new business. Ruth interviews potential recipients and counsels them during the set up and implementation of their business.
Ruth graduated from East Africa Baraton University (Kenya) where she earned a bachelors of science degree in Argibusiness.
Ruth Mwendwa was born in 1980 in Makueni district, Eastern Kenya. She is the first born in a family of four ( plus her parents) and is married to Justus mwendwa Since October 2008. From 1987 to 1995, she did her primary education at a local school located a few meters from her home and in 1996, she joined 0- level education at Kisau secondary school . However, this was during a drought season that forced pupils within the school to walk 5 km from school to the only nearby dam and fetch water despite being boarding students. It was this situation that led to her transfer to St Josephs secondary school- a catholic sponsored school that had a better supply of water where she completed her secondary education. Ruth joined the East Africa Baraton University ( Kenya) , an Adventist run University where she graduated with a bachelors of science degree , Agribusiness in 2004.
Ruth gave her life to Jesus on 31st August 2006 and has been actively involved in church (International Christian center) leadership at the community level in Kenya where she led a home cell. She also serves as an usher in the church. Ruth has also worked for two horticultural companies in Kenya.
Coming from a humble background, Ruth has a passion to work with the less fortunate in the community especially poverty stricken women to improve their lives and serve God. She enjoys using simple skills eg embroidery and craftwork to come up with projects that improves lives. She also enjoys sharing the love of Jesus through encouraging people and helping them grow deeper in Knowing God.
Ruth’s goal is to make Jesus known through whichever way God uses her, help the less fortunate and use her God given skills to serve others.
