Faith Village
Encompass Ministries is based out of the United States and Thailand. We have been working with ‘Faith Village’ since 1996.
We encourage any who would like to come and volunteer their time in here to contact us for more information
Located just south of the Burma border, Faith Village is home to about 50 boys and girls.
Started with children that were once boy soldiers recused from the jungles, Faith Village now helps children who were in danger of being sold into sex trades, slaves, and orphaned.
We don’t have a ‘sponsor a child’ program. We use all funds that come in for the children to go to the orphanage as a whole. In that way all have equal and no one is left out.
Their greatest needs right now are food and clothing. If you would like to help in this area or come for a visit, please contact us.
Your gifting will be put to great use here!
David and Paula started ‘Faith Village’ orphanage by rescuing young boys that were being used as boy soldiers for the opium drug warlord and the burmese armies. Since then the number of children has grown and now they have approximately 60 children, both boys and girls.
We met David & Paula Mahawon in 1996 when they were on a small piece of rental property with their first group of boys. God blessed and
the Encompass Ministries’ team was able to help ‘Faith Village’ acquire the property they are now on.
Later Larry took a group of brick layers to the village and they were able to teach the boys how to lay block. It wasn’t long before David and these boys had built a kitchen, meeting area, boys & girls dormitories, a house for David and Paula, and they are now working on the largest Christian church in all of northern Thailand.
Along with the operations of the orphanage, David provides outreaches to the Shan people in Thailand with concerts, humanitarian helps, and teachings.
